It was a beautiful day, and looking somewhat like fall, even though it was 75 degrees out, when we met at Corrine’s home for our first Women’s fellowship meeting of the year for the 2011-2012 season. We each brought a sack lunch, and after visiting a short while in Corrine’s living room we were led to her dining room to enjoy our lunches and conversation which each other.
While we had our lunch Marie Plester, who is our Women’s Chairperson, led us in discussion of what activities we may be looking forward in doing this year. We talked about our new sister church that is using our building and the fact that they are doing an outdoor clean-up (what a wonderful thing that is!!) on Saturday, October the 8th. We and some of the other women of the church are going to prepare a sloppy Joe luncheon for them. We’ll also have hot dogs and other items to fill in (and up!). On Friday, October 14th we are having our Third Annual Mostaccioli Dinner for the church and the community. It will be from 5 to 7 PM. There is a sign- up sheet on the bulletin board for church members to sign up to donate items towards the making of the dinner. In November, at our meeting we will make sandwiches for our Cass Corridor Homeless people that we do every year. We will have a Cookie Sale on Sunday Dec. 11th at church once again, as has been our tradition for many, many years. We discussed going to a “Bible Garden” in the spring that Corrine got some information on that sounded very interesting and perhaps Dixboro, since we didn’t get there this past year as planned. Shirley Stephan brought in two adult bibs for patterns that we may make for our shut-ins sometime this winter.
While we briefly discussed the possibility of changing the day of our meeting, we still kept it to a Thursday but just stepped it up to the second Thursday of every month instead of the third Thursday. We also are moving the time up to 12 O’clock noon to give us a little earlier start in the day. We’ll see how this works out with everyone, ladies.
After our lunch settled and we retired a while in Corrine’s family room, we came back to her dining room for tea and cherry pie. What a lovely way to end our very lovely visit with everyone and especially what a nice visit we had at Corrine’s home. Thank you for having us Corrine!
The next meeting will be at the church in the Fellowship Hall…officially on the second Thursday of each month at 12 noon. October will be different because of the work we’ll be doing on the 8th and the 14th , but we’ll be there on Nov. 10th making sandwiches. If you would like to help out making sandwiches for the needy you are welcome to come…and IF you would like to help out even more you can come with plain white loaves of bread (1 or 2 loaves) and something to make sandwiches with them ( ie bologna & cheese or ham & cheese anything you would like)!
You can call Shirley in the office for further information regarding anything about the November meeting or anything about the Women’s Fellowship meetings.
Please check out the calendar on this web site to check out our Women’s Fellowship schedule and any changes in plans.
Thank you and May God Bless!!
