ATTENTION: On August 8, Rev John Landis will return to Nativity to lead us in worship. Our Worship Hour and Sunday School will be changed to 2 pm every Sunday. Come, worship with us.

Nativity United Church of Christ is pleased to welcome back Rev. John Landis. He will join us on August 8 to lead our worship service and resume his duties as Pastor.
Rev. Landis served as our interim pastor for nearly 2 years in 2007 and 2008. During that time he led the congregation through a time of discovery. He helped Nativity to recognize its options for the future and to begin to lay plans to take the congregation into that future. He returns now to assist in and facilitate the implementation and further discovery of our future path.
Rev. Landis is known as an insightful and entertaining preacher. He is also a gifted teacher who brings the Bible and its characters to life. His worship services provide opportunity to celebrate, as well as gain insight into the person and nature of God. His sermons and worship services are always challenging and entertaining; usually with an ingredient of the unexpected, guided by the Holy Spirit. John always leaves the participant with something to do, so that they might come closer to being the child of God that God intends them to be.
Rev. Landis’ theology is grounded in the Great Commandment and Great Commission. He invites those who seek to know God, to explore their questions and their faith in a safe environment. Then when they are ready, they are provided the opportunity to commit their lives to the service of Jesus Christ, accepting the gift of grace that God offers. Rev. Landis encourages believers to become disciples and equips disciples for ministry.
In John’s office hangs a cross that is inscribed with the verse from 2 Corinthians Chapter 5 verse 7. It says “For we walk by faith, not by sight”. You are invited to come walk with Rev. Landis and our congregation as we discover in faith what God has as a plan for us.
